Implementation of Exponential Depth Distribution of Organic Carbon in the CENTURY Model

چکیده

An important component in calculating budgets of terrestrial soil carbon is an estimate of total soil organic carbon. The CENTURY model simulates organic C in the top 20 cm of soil only, so a method for projecting the depth distribution of organic C is necessary for estimates of the profile total. This document describes the implementation of the exponential depth distribution of organic C in CENTURY soil organic matter model. This model replaces the original CENTURY version 5 algorithm for distributing C below the simulation layer. Implementation of this algorithm also required changes to the algorithms for the layered soil, erosion, and deposition.

بررسی ساختار مکانی خصوصیات خاک در یک توده جنگلی راش با استفاده از روش زمین‌آمار

To investigate spatial variability of soil characteristics in the most valuble forest stands in the northern Iran using geostatistical approach, a twenty hectare area in Experimental Forest Station of Tarbiat Modares University was considered. Soil samples were taken from pits, mounds, canopy gaps, under single trees and closed canopy positions at 0 - 15, 15 - 30 and 30 - 45 cm depths using cor...

Evaluating the performance of concentration-number (C-N) fractal model for separation of soil horizon regarding vertical distribution and 3D models

This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of the concentration-number (C-N) fractal model for discrimination of soil horizon regarding the depth distribution profile. In this regard, soil parameters such as pH, organic carbon content, calcareous mineral content, electrical conductivity and available phosphorus of Ziarat forestland in Golestan Province, north of Iran, has been investigated. The...

Effect of Some Soil Properties on Distribution of Eurotia ceratoides and Stipa barbata in Baghedar, Bafgh Rangelands

In order to sustainable use of rangelands, it is necessary to recognize water, soil, and vegetation cover and analyze their relationships. Physical and chemical properties of soil are effective in distribution of plant species in local area. To determine the effects of some soil properties on species distribution of Eurotia ceratoides and Stipa barbata in Baghedar summer region of Bafgh, three ...

Temperature Distribution of a Non gray Gas between Two Parallel Planes Using Exponential Wide Band Model

In this paper, the Radiation Transfer Equation(RTE) for a non-gray gas between two large parallel planes has been solved and the temperature distribution obtained. With the RTE, solution heat fluxes are also determined. Since and are two components of most combustion products, the problem has been solved for these two gases. The results were, whenever possible, compared with data reported el...

Predicting the amount of sequestrated carbon in rangeland soil under the effect of soil sampling depth and height using the response surface methodology (RSM)

Background and objectives: Organic carbon is one of the important parameters to determine soil fertility, and production ability and is a mind index for showing soil quality, especially in dry and semi-dry lands. The rangelands are composed of about 50 % of the world's lands and have more than 33 % of carbon reservoirs on earth. Considering the ranges as the most important terrestrial ecosystem...
